Use the original Huawei cable or a high-quality data cable to prevent connection drops.
You will see a new device appear in Device Manager. Depending on the chipset, it may show as:
If Device Manager shows the port perfectly but servicing software (like SigmaKey, EFT Dongle, or Chimera) cannot find it, registry filters are likely blocking it. Run the driver installer utility as an administrator to clean old registries, or manually match the COM port number in the flashing software settings to match the number displayed in Windows Device Manager.
Open Chimera Tool. If the connection is good, the software will detect the phone, display "Factory Mode," and show the IMEI and model number.
For FRP bypass, consider whether you really need to open the phone. On older Huawei (Android 8/9), you could use free software like "FRP Hijacker" via fastboot. On Android 10/11/12 with HarmonyOS, test point driver install is mandatory.
Hold down the key while clicking Restart in the Windows Start Menu.
A Test Point is a physical contact on the phone's motherboard. By shorting this point to the ground (usually the metal EMI shield) while connecting the USB cable, you bypass the standard boot sequence. This triggers a low-level interface known as Emergency Download Mode (EDL) or USB COM 1.0.
Use tweezers to short the Test Point to the metal shielding. While holding the short, plug the USB cable into your PC. Open Device Manager on your computer.
Click on (if prompted) and then click the Have Disk... button.
Check Huawei Support for basic built-in driver installation.
